This “Glyphosate Replacement” May Be Even Deadlier.
A shocking report reveals that diquat, the herbicide now replacing glyphosate in many Roundup products, is about 200× more toxic and has been shown to damage organs, kill beneficial gut bacteria, and disrupt your gut lining—according to a Friends of the Earth analysis of EPA data.
In animal studies and human cells, diquat has been linked to oxidative stress, increased inflammation, and harm to the kidneys, liver, lungs, and brain. It also breaks down proteins in the gut lining, allowing toxins to leak into the bloodstream. The U.S. still permits its use in agriculture—even though it’s banned across the EU, UK, and China.
Avoid it by choosing organic produce, filtering drinking water, and supporting bans or tighter oversight. Don’t let “safer” weedkillers sneak a worse poison into your food chain.
